Twenty years taking consumer electronics, connected hardware, and software from concept through launch: deciding what to build, positioning and pricing it, and selling it through retail, two-step distribution, OEM, dealer, and direct-to-consumer channels. From Creative Labs and Dolby to venture-backed hardware startups.
Product marketing is the hub of the company: the place where Product, Engineering, Finance, Operations, and Sales agree on what to build, who it's for, and what it's worth. I work as a hands-on owner of that process, earning alignment through clear thinking and clear writing rather than headcount.
Customer and competitive research, market sizing, business cases, and stage gates that surface the key debates early and give leadership a decision they can act on.
Messaging architecture, naming, and pricing models grounded in what customers will pay, plus one source of truth for claims, specs, comparisons, and objection handling.
Launch readiness with clear owners and go/no-go criteria, channel enablement for retail, distribution, OEM, and D2C, and an honest post-launch loop on what's working.
One throughline: taking products built on serious engineering and making them legible, priced right, and wanted, from a premium cinema format launched in fourteen countries to direct-to-consumer hardware startups.
Pricing, launch, and go-to-market engagements for consumer product companies.
Owned go-to-market end to end for an all-electric travel trailer with integrated battery, solar, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connected systems, sold direct to consumers.
Premium off-grid expedition vehicles, sold direct to consumers.
Took Dolby Cinema from an internal bet to a premium consumer brand in fourteen countries: a program that had to work for exhibitors, dealers, studios, and moviegoers at once.
Founding team member. Co-wrote the business plan and go-to-market strategy, wrote technical and design specifications including LED auditorium lighting, and owned product management through incubation. Built the launch process from exhibitor pitch, contract review, and onboarding through site readiness, go/no-go, and on-site implementation, launching the US, China, Spain, and the Netherlands at 100% of site forecast.
Led naming, positioning, and messaging platforms for Dolby Atmos (drove the product naming), Dolby Vision, Dolby TrueHD, and Dolby Pro Logic, using consumer and customer research to refine positioning. Partnered with PC OEMs including Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Acer on Dolby PC launches, and led a portfolio rebrand that raised unaided brand awareness 10%.
Marketed certification and licensing programs to manufacturers and post-production professionals, including program pricing and packaging; launched digital and theatrical products.
Advised startups on positioning and go-to-market strategy across early-stage technology categories.
Led global marketing for communications technology products from positioning through launch.
Managed 25+ SKUs of multimedia kits, sound cards, speakers, and digital music players during growth from $700M to $1.1B, owning pricing, packaging, bundling, channel inventory, and price protection across distribution, national retail, and PC OEMs.
Depth in the disciplines that decide whether a product wins, and working fluency in everything a launch touches.
